Create jobs at Purina for young people across Europe
We are committed to creating 1,500 job opportunities and traineeships for young people below the age of 30 at Nestlé Purina in Europe.
Our Point of View
Youth unemployment is a major issue across Europe, with one in four young Europeans affected, so we recognise that attracting and retaining great people is critical for us as a company and ensuring a bright future for pets.
In addition, under 30-year-olds are the next generation of pet owners so they will play an important role in promoting the health and wellbeing of the pets of the future and helping their pet-loving peers.
Building on Nestlé CSV
In 2013, Nestlé announced the launch of the Youth Employment Initiative that will create 20,000 new opportunities for people under 30 across Europe by 2016.
Nestlé Commitment: offer 20,000 job opportunities for young people in Europe
Let’s go to work…
Across Europe, Purina has created 1,000 jobs in 2015 with a total target of 1,500 set for 2016 as part of the Nestlé Youth Employment Initiative.
Here in the UK, four apprentices joined the Purina family at our factory sites at Wisbech and Sudbury in 2015 and further apprenticeship opportunities are being made available at our factory sites over the next three years. We also sponsor two students each year on the three year Fast Start Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship Programme. This includes a degree at Sheffield Hallam’s Business School as well offering experience in different parts of our business.
